Thank you! I have been enriched in similar groups - choirs, reading circles, shared meals with neighbors...I have diligently fostered multi-generational conversations in the church, where I have served for 36 years. This morning I interviewed two members, celebrating their 65 years of marriage - the many kids in the sanctuary were on the edge of their seats. I interviewed towards these two, 90 year olds, sharing their stories, wisdom and customs. It is concerning to me as I observe the church at large divide the generations for worship and other gatherings, or discard traditions that bind together the generations. Over the years I have been amazed at the insight of young children interacting with canonical texts. I could go on...but thank you.

Beautifully thought. And Willamowitz would agree: “To make the ancients speak, we must feed them with our own blood.”
